Advantages of RS-EPI technique on a patient with middle ear cholosteatoma

Figure illustrates left middle ear cholosteatoma. Axial single-shot FSE DWI (non-EPI) with b1000 (A), axial readout segmented (RS) EPI DWI with b1000 (B) with its corresponding ADC map (C), and multiplanar reconstruction in coronal (D) & sagittal (E) plane, and high-resolution 3D T2-w anatomical imaging (F). In this particular case, the advantages of RS-EPI technique are the reduced SAR, high-resolution 1.5 mm isotropic imaging and the capability of ADC map calculation.
